About Maria Organic

Maria Organic is the brand of sustainable purity in Portuguese tinned fish. The fish is wild, caught on a small scale in the Atlantic off the Iberian Peninsula, through artisanal fishing that respects marine ecosystems. Everything that goes into the tin beyond the fish is 100% organic and certified: olive oil, tomato, chili, aromatic herbs.

The production method is traditional. The fish is pre-cooked before canning, which avoids water retention and gives the tins better texture and presentation. Each fish is handled and selected one by one, not on a homogenous line, ensuring quality and hygiene in every tin. The result is products with vitamins and omega-3 preserved, for those who want to eat whole fish, not industrial paste.

The collection includes tuna in organic olive oil, sardines in organic tomato, and mackerel fillets in olive oil with lemon thyme. The fish is wild because there is no organic certification for sea fish, but every other ingredient is certified.

The brand stands for fair trade, with an honest relationship with suppliers, fair pricing, and consistent social and environmental standards throughout the chain. The packaging is recycled paper. A pragmatic answer for anyone seeking tinned fish aligned with responsible eating.
